Server upgrade

30 Jul

Until just a few minutes ago I had been running stevec.us on an old 450 MHz G4 PowerMac that I had bought off of Ebay 4 years ago.

At various times in the past it had been run off an old 300MHz G3, a Performa 610 and some sort of first generation PPC powerbook connected to my cable modem via a localtalk adapter of some sort. Don’t ask.

About a eighteen months ago the Reality Distortion Field took over and I broke down and bought a new Dual 2.6GHz MacPro and my previous main Mac a MDD dual 867MHz G4 PowerMac was retired as my main Mac with the intent of pressing it into service as my New(!) Faster(!) Shinier(!) web server.

It took a little longer than expected…

So do enjoy the New! Faster! Shinier! Upgraded! Better Than Ever stevec.us.
